The Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aliyu Yakubu Barde, has died, plunging the party into mourning.
Family sources confirmed that Barde passed away on Tuesday in Lafia after a brief illness. He will be buried in his hometown, Wamba, in line with Islamic rites.
Reacting to the development, the State Secretary of the APC, Chief Otaru Douglas, described Barde’s death as a “great loss” not only to the party but also to the people of the state.
Until his passing, Barde was serving as the Deputy Chairman of the ruling APC in Nasarawa. He had earlier held the position of Interim Management Committee Chairman of Wamba Local Government Area during the tenure of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
