Firstsitenews-Jane Edidiong Ufot, daughter of Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, has made explosive allegations against her father, accusing him of being responsible for the death of her mother, the late First Lady Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno. Mrs. Eno passed away in September 2024 after battling an undisclosed illness.
In a viral video posted on social media, Mrs. Ufot, who was appointed as a Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Safety, and Environment, alleged that her mother was used as a “sacrifice” and vowed that she would not meet the same fate. She claimed both her life and that of her young daughter are in danger.
“I’m not a sacrifice. Mummy was, but I’m not,” she declared emotionally.
During the video, Mrs. Ufot handed her phone to her daughter, who appeared to be in a video call with Governor Eno. She instructed the child to confront her grandfather.
“So Grandpa, do you want them to kill us?” the little girl asked. “Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?”
There was no audible reply from the governor during the exchange, and it remains unclear who the child meant by "them."
Mrs. Ufot went on to suggest that the threats stem from hidden truths that are about to be revealed.
“If I die today or my daughter dies if we die because God is exposing the truth so be it. But my blood will not go scot-free,” she said tearfully.
As of the time of this report, efforts to reach Governor Umo Eno for a response have been unsuccessful. Calls to his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, went unanswered as his phone line was switched off.
