Firstsitenews-Nollywood actor Godwin Nnadiekwe has been hospitalised and is currently undergoing treatment for internal bleeding following a violent on-set altercation with fellow actor Zubby Michael, which he claims was unscripted and unprovoked.

The incident, which has sparked concern within the industry, came to light after Nnadiekwe posted on Instagram on Saturday, revealing that he sustained serious injuries after being forcefully kicked in the chest during the filming of a scene.

Though initially refraining from naming the individual involved, Nnadiekwe shared a behind-the-scenes video that has since gone viral. The footage clearly shows Zubby Michael aggressively exiting a vehicle, leaping over a barricade, and delivering a forceful kick to Nnadiekwe before storming into a nearby building.

Nnadiekwe emphasized that the action was neither directed nor included in the scripted sequence and described the pain as intense. He also expressed disappointment over the lack of support from the production crew and the absence of on-set medical assistance.

“During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director. It caused me serious pain. I had to get medication for my chest on my own—no help was offered,” he wrote.

The actor made an emotional plea to Nollywood producers and colleagues, urging them to uphold strict safety protocols during filming—particularly in an industry where many productions operate without insurance or medical coverage.

“When there’s no insurance, no first aid, and limited safety planning, such unscripted actions can become life-threatening. What if it had been worse?” he asked.

In a follow-up official statement issued by his management, it was confirmed that Nnadiekwe’s condition had deteriorated and that he had been rushed to the hospital.

“We regret to inform the public that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening. He is currently undergoing treatment for internal bleeding following an incident during filming with his colleague, Zubby Michael.”

The incident has raised serious concerns about actor safety, professionalism, and the need for stronger on-set regulations in the Nigerian film industry.
