Firstsitenews-Renowned Nigerian musician, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has described the ongoing killings in parts of Benue State as a "national emergency," urging immediate and unified action to address the crisis.
In an emotional video message posted on his Instagram page on Sunday, the singer expressed profound grief and frustration over the recurring violence in the state and the perceived inaction by authorities.
Visibly disturbed, 2Baba stressed that verbal condemnations are no longer enough, calling instead for coordinated and tangible steps to halt the bloodshed.
“My heart is heavy. I’m deeply saddened and angry. What’s going on in Benue State is a national emergency. I honestly can’t comprehend it anymore,” he said.
“This madness must stop. It requires collective effort from every stakeholder in this country and every citizen of Benue State. It’s not a joke anymore; it’s becoming outrageous.
“I don’t even know where to begin expressing my sadness, pain, anger, and frustration. These tragedies keep repeating themselves.
“We can’t just keep condemning with words. Real action must be taken.
“Every stakeholder in Benue must unite. I believe a solution exists but we must get serious about finding and implementing it.”
2Baba’s emotional plea comes in the wake of the reported massacre of around 200 men, women, and children by suspected armed herders in Yeluwata, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, on Saturday, June 14.
