‘What to Know Before Entering Big Brother House’ – Ex-Housemate Tolanibaj Shares Key Tips for Aspirants

Firstsitenews-As the 10th edition of Big Brother Naija approaches, former housemate Tolanibaj has taken to TikTok to share valuable advice with aspiring contestants. In a video message, she listed five important tips, drawing from her own experience on the show.

1. Don’t Be Boring

Tolanibaj’s first piece of advice is for housemates to stay true to themselves and avoid being boring.

“Be yourself, but don’t be dull. Nigerians won’t find that entertaining, and it could work against you,” she cautioned.

2. Glam Up Daily

Her second tip urges contestants to maintain a stylish appearance every day in the house.

“You might feel like you’re just in a house, but remember it’s a show. Dress well and do your makeup daily. It helps attract fashion and beauty brand deals,” she said.

She also advised bringing personal clothing, even though Big Brother provides outfits for Saturday night parties, in case the supplied wardrobe doesn’t meet expectations.

3. Housemates Are Not Your Friends

Tolanibaj warned that contestants should not automatically consider fellow housemates as friends.

“Living together doesn’t make you friends. You’re more like colleagues. If real friendship develops, that’s great. But if not, don’t be shocked. Stick to your true friends and family outside the house,” she advised.

4. Prepare for Life After the Show

She emphasized the importance of planning ahead, especially since the show’s organizers won’t take responsibility for housemates’ futures.

“Know what you want to do after Big Brother. Don’t rely solely on the prize money—it doesn't come all at once. Even if you win ₦10 million or more, it’s often paid in parts. So have a solid plan,” she said.

5. The Real Journey Begins After the Show

Tolanibaj concluded by reminding aspirants that success doesn’t end or begin with winning.

“Whether you win or not, the real hustle starts once the show ends. It’s not about how long you lasted in the house, but what you make of the exposure afterwards,” she stressed.

Her candid insights aim to help aspiring housemates navigate the pressures of the Big Brother house and life beyond it with clear-eyed preparation.
