Firstsitenews-ABUJA – The Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, has stated that Nigerians are being unfair in blaming the Tinubu administration for the country's current economic woes, attributing it to what he called the citizens' "short memory."
Speaking in an interview on Arise TV on Friday, Onanuga defended the president’s economic policies and urged the public to consider the state of the nation before Tinubu took office on May 29, 2023.
"Many Nigerians tend to forget quickly. We often have a short memory. People ignore where we were and rush to heap all the blame on President Tinubu for the economic challenges we're facing," Onanuga said.
Fuel Crisis Didn’t Start With Tinubu
Referencing the lingering fuel issues in the country, Onanuga pointed out that Nigeria was already facing a significant fuel crisis and complications related to subsidy removal before President Tinubu's tenure began.
