Firstsitenews-Lagos, Nigeria – June 23, 2025 — Fidelity Bank Plc has once again demonstrated its dedication to community upliftment by donating food and essential supplies to the Old People’s Home in Yaba, Lagos.
The initiative, led by the bank’s Nexus Inductees Class under its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility platform – the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP) – is part of the bank’s broader mission to positively impact lives beyond financial services.
Under the FHHP model, employees from Fidelity Bank branches across the country voluntarily identify pressing needs within their communities, raise funds to address them, and receive matching contributions from the bank’s management to implement chosen projects.
During the donation visit, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, emphasized the bank’s longstanding culture of giving back to society.
“This donation is a small way of saying thank you to the incredible elders who laid the foundation for the future we enjoy today. It reflects our unwavering commitment to preserving the dignity and well-being of our senior citizens,” he said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the facility, Mrs. Adetutu Ipaye, Director-in-Charge, expressed deep appreciation to Fidelity Bank for the gesture.
“Support from organizations like Fidelity Bank plays a crucial role in enabling us to continue our work. We encourage more corporate bodies to follow this example, as it significantly enhances the quality of life for our elderly residents,” she remarked.
One of the home’s residents, Mr. Kamoru Adeyetu, also shared his heartfelt thanks.
“Your visit has brought us so much joy. Beyond the items you brought, your presence here truly means everything. We hope you will come back to visit us again,” he said warmly.
