IPOB Declares Chika Edoziem’s Actions Null and Void, Backs New DOS Leadership Under Chris Nwaọgụ
The Indigenous People of Biafra has officially declared all actions taken by the dissolved 3rd Administration of its Directorate of State (DOS), led by Chika Edoziem, as illegal, null, and void.
In a press statement issued on Friday, June 19, 2026, IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful said the group’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu, had lawfully dissolved the 3rd Administration and inaugurated a new 4th Administration headed by Chris Nwaọgụ.
According to the statement, the decision to dissolve the previous administration was final, binding, and took immediate effect upon announcement.
IPOB said any subsequent actions or directives issued by Edoziem and members of the dissolved administration hold no legal or organizational weight within the movement.
The group specifically reacted to reports that Edoziem and some former DOS members allegedly issued a statement suspending the Office of the Supreme Leader and the Director of Radio Biafra.
Describing the move as unconstitutional, IPOB stated that such action amounted to a direct violation of the movement’s Code of Conduct.
According to the statement, IPOB’s governing laws vest exclusive authority in Kanu to appoint, suspend, dismiss, or dissolve principal officers and administrative structures.
The statement emphasized that no coordinator, committee, or administrative body within IPOB possesses the authority to remove or suspend the Supreme Leader.
“The authority of the Supreme Leader remains supreme, unquestionable, and binding on all members,” the statement read.
IPOB further accused the dissolved administration of gross insubordination, constitutional misconduct, abuse of office, and deliberate sabotage of the movement’s command structure.
The group maintained that the actions of the former DOS leadership represented an attempt to usurp powers not granted under the organization’s internal laws.
It stressed that IPOB remains a disciplined movement governed by a strict chain of command and adherence to its Code of Conduct.
The organization also issued a directive to members worldwide, urging them to disregard any communications, appointments, suspensions, or administrative directives originating from Edoziem or members of the dissolved administration.
The movement warned that individuals or groups continuing to defy what it described as the lawful authority of Kanu could face severe disciplinary measures, including suspension, removal from office, or expulsion.
IPOB also called on the media to exercise caution when reporting on internal matters concerning the organization, urging journalists to rely only on communications from officially recognized channels.
Reaffirming support for the newly inaugurated leadership, IPOB stated that the 4th Administration under Chris Nwaọgụ remains fully operational and accountable to Kanu.
The group urged members worldwide to remain calm, disciplined, and focused on what it described as the collective objective of Biafra restoration.
The latest development signals a major internal restructuring within IPOB amid growing tensions over leadership and control of the movement’s administrative structures.
